It was a busy day in the NFL yesterday with 13 total games being played, and it was  an exciting day that was full of surprises. Whether it be rookies that stepped up to help their team in a big way, or veteran players who overshot their expectations, it was a fun filled day with many surprising performances. There were some surprising outcomes to games, and there were some other furious comebacks that came up just short.

There is a lot of excitement moving forward to Week 2 after this type of day, and the NFL looks to be providing fans with the start of an up-and-down roller coaster season for many teams. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the season holds, and which teams work their way to the surface and separate themselves from the rest of the field. Don’t expect anything different from the two games tonight, as they will both likely be fairly hard fought games.

All of that being said, there were five performances in particular that stood out on Sunday. Which five players came up with the most surprising performances of Sunday’s NFL action?
