3. Allen Hurns, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville received a huge game from undrafted rookie Allen Hurns, who had been talked about fairly frequently during training camp and preseason action. Chad Henne looked solid in the first half before faltering in the second half, and Hurns was his favorite target for big plays and touchdowns. Needless to say, Hurns played the game of his life in his NFL debut yesterday.

Hurns ended up catching four passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars’ loss. He might not have the potential to put up huge numbers each and every week, but he has big play potential. The Jaguars were very high on him during the offseason, and he proved why yesterday against the Eagles.

He will need to work on being consistent throughout the course of the game, as he ended up disappearing in the second half. There is no doubt that he has the potential to put up big performances every week, but it will all depend on whether or not Henne can continue getting the football to him. It’s always nice to have a big performance in Week 1, but Hurns will have to come through with another big game in Week 2 to have talent realized around the league.
