Last week was a disappointment, as I put myself in a big hole by starting the season 14-24 against the spread. I think I did better this week, but we shall see!

Arizona(-7.5) at UTSA: MISS! I should have known better after the Roadrunners’ great showing at Houston.
Pittsburgh(-4.5) at Boston College: HIT! Connor is a beast…..
Washington State(-3.5) at Nevada: MISS! Wazzu is worse than I thought…..
Oklahoma(-24.5) at Tulsa: HIT! The Sooners have looked unstoppable against average or below teams.
Arkansas State at Tennessee(-16.5):MISS! The Vols played pretty well, but let off the gas in the second half.
Florida Atlantic at Alabama(-40.5): MISS! Quite a show put on by Bama -and the weather – on Saturday.
Missouri(-3.5) at Toledo: HIT! Contrary to what bettors thought, this game was never close.
Buffalo at Army(-3.5): MISS! The Cadets look good against a pretty bad Bulls team.
SMU at North Texas(-2.5): MISS! SMU is awful. Just when I thought they couldn’t look any worse, they get dominated by North Texas. DOMINATED.
Kansas State(-12.5) at Iowa State: MISS! The Cyclones looked much better than they did in the opener. Does that mean that NDSU is better than K-State again?
Western Kentucky at Illinois:MISS! Damn you Wes Lunt!
Akron at Penn State(-14.5): HIT! Penn State was one of the few Big Ten(14) teams that looked good on Saturday.
Central Michigan at Purdue(-3.5): HIT! Purdue might still lose six games in the MAC this year. That’s how bad they are.
Navy(-3.5): at Temple: HIT! Temple played another good game this week. Unfortunately for the Owls, they played a pretty good team.
South Alabama(-2.5) at Kent State: HIT! The Jaguars are making quite a name for themselves so far….
UAB at Mississippi State(-27.5): MISS! I am thoroughly impressed with the UAB offense through two games. Putting up 37 points on a solid Mississippi State D is quite an achievement. Too bad they gave up 47….
New Mexico State(-1.5) at Georgia State: MISS! The Aggies came out swinging in the second half to pull out the victory.
Fresno State at Utah(-12.5): MISS! Maybe the Bulldogs really are this bad…..
Colorado(-17.5) at Massachusetts: MISS! Luckily for the Ralphies, the Big Ten(14) had such a miserable week that few people noticed them almost losing to UMass.
USC at Stanford(-3.5): HIT! That is what a football game should look like!
Ohio at Kentucky(-12.5): MISS! I changed it at the last minute when I found out Heard was out. It’s my own fault!
Northern Illinois at Northwestern(-6.5):MISS! I may not take another Big Ten(14) team……
Maryland(-13.5) at South Florida: MISS! Ugly! Just…….ugly.
Ball State at Iowa(-19.5): HIT! Iowa is very lucky they didn’t lose this outright.
Middle Tennessee State at Minnesota(-15.5): MISS! The Gophers’ lack of a quarterback that can throw consistently will cost them at some point.
Georgia Tech(-10.5) at Tulane: HIT! The Yellow Jackets will get their points this year.
Eastern Michigan at Florida(-37.5): HIT! The Gators nearly won by double an already huge line. Huge statement for the Florida D.
Mississippi(-19.5) at Vanderbilt: HIT! Was there ever a doubt? The Vandy offense looks like the Bad News Bears trying to play football…..
Old Dominion at North Carolina State(-17.5): HIT! The Wolfpack defense needs some help.
Michigan State at Oregon(-12.5): MISS! I am a little surprised Oregon pulled away, but the signs were there the whole game that they could.
Duke(-17.5) at Troy: MISS! The half got me again.
East Carolina at South Carolina(-14.5): HIT! The Gamecock D wore the Pirates out, but the Gamecock offense showed that slow and steady can be a very good thing.
Idaho at Louisiana-Monroe(-13.5):MISS! Maybe the Vandals are better than last year. Or maybe they still had confidence since they didn’t have to play practice dummies to Florida last week.
Arizona State(-24.5) at New Mexico: HIT! Pick against the Sun Devil offense at your own risk.
San Jose State at Auburn(-34.5): HIT! Auburn is proving that last year was not a fluke.
Louisiana Tech at Louisiana-Lafayette(-15.5):MISS! Or not……
BYU at Texas(EVEN): HIT! BYU embarrassed the Horns again. It was so bad that even Bevo turned around by the end of the game…..
Michigan at Notre Dame(-3.5): HIT! It wasn’t close, but I will still take it.
San Diego State at North Carolina(-14.5): HIT! The Tarheels are struggling with everyone right now.
Virginia Tech at Ohio State(-10.5): HIT! This was an easy pick when you think about it.
Memphis at UCLA(-22.5): MISS! The Bruins are another team that has looked average in the first two weeks.
Air Force(-1.5) at Wyoming: HIT! The home team won for the first time in five years!
Colorado State at Boise State(-8.5): HIT! Wow, Boise almost blew this!
Oregon State(-9.5) at Hawaii: MISS! The Warriors’ flurry in the fourth quarter screwed this line.
Texas Tech(-21.5) at UTEP: HIT! This was too close for comfort in Lubbock.
This week, I fared a little better, going 23-22. That puts my season total at 37-46. So far, this week looks like it could be a diffcult one again. Anything over .500 would be acceptable right now.
