1. Oregon: Earned this slot with a convincing win over a top ten team.
2. Florida State: Another uninspiring performance has me wondering how good FSU’s offense actually is without all of the weapons from last year.
3. Auburn: No reason to move them out of here either. San Jose State is not a terrible team, but they looked like it on Saturday thanks to Aubie.
4. Oklahoma: They have been easy so far. Let’s see how they look against Tennessee.
5. Alabama: If they keep playing like this, I won’t be able to keep them at 5.
6. Georgia: Big one against South Carolina this weekend.
7. Texas A&M: Looked good, but who didn’t in the SEC this week.
8. USC: The win at Stanford has them deserving of a top ten slot.
9. Baylor: No Petty, no problem! The Bears still topped 70!
10. Mississippi: They have been very impressive so far.
11. Michigan State: The Ducks made them look slow and overmatched.
12. LSU: They haven’t looked great so far, but there are plenty of teams that haven’t.
13. Stanford: They played a really good game against USC. They don’t deserve to be punished much.
14. Notre Dame: Blew out Michigan. That should count for something.
15. Arizona State: This offense is one of the most potent in the Pac 12, which is saying something this year.
16. Wisconsin: Still a good team. If McEvoy comes around, they could win the Big 10(14).
17. Louisville: Still a few questions on offense, but that defense could take them far.
18. UCLA: No excuse for looking that poor against Memphis.
19. Virginia Tech: Impressive road win in a tough environment.
20. Clemson: Still a force to be reckoned with in the ACC.
21. BYU: So, uh, when is that Big 12(10) invite coming?
22. Kansas State: Hard fought win in Ames. They do have some questions though, especially on defense.
22. Ohio State: Honestly, I’m not even sure they belong here.
23. Oklahoma State: Could be a sneaky team in the Big 12(10).
24. Oregon State: Their offense is fine. It’s the defense that could get them in trouble.
25. Missouri: I’m not sure how big that win at Toledo was. The Rockets aren’t as good as last year.
Out of rankings: (17)Nebraska, (23)North Dakota State (if only they played more FBS teams!), (24) East Carolina
Honorable mention:
Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Florida, Duke, Maryland
