LSU RB Leonard Fournette apologizes to team for striking Heisman pose
By Dan Zinski
Leonard Fournette has a long way to go before he can consider himself a contender for the Heisman trophy, which made his decision to strike the Heisman pose after scoring a TD vs. Sam Houston State all the more idiotic and baffling.

Even if Fournette were a legit contender for the trophy – which he is not – it still would have been an ass-hat move to strike the Heisman pose. And Fournette seems to understand that.
To make amends to his teammates for making it all about him, Fournette reportedly has apologized. Les Miles said (via NFL.com):
"“There’s an appropriate time for that,” Miles said during Wednesday’s weekly SEC coaches’ teleconference. “It will always be viewed in the interest of the team. Leonard certainly understands that. He addressed the team and described that’s something he wishes he had not done.”Miles also said Fournette “truly is a humble guy. There’s nobody that works harder; there’s nobody that learns as fast.”"
Miles added:
"“You’d rather have a guy who was ambitious and would see the opportunity to win a national award,” Miles said. “That being said, you also want to curb that enthusiasm and say there’ll be plenty of time for that as we go forward.”"
Leonard Fournette routinely gets compared to Adrian Peterson, but such comparisons only seem ludicrous at this early point of Fournette’s career.
Unless you’re talking about the Adrian Peterson who played for the Bears. Then maybe it makes a little more sense. The real Adrian Paterson? Sorry, I don’t see it.
Can the Heisman pose, Fournette. Work on your game instead.
