Earlier this week, unfortunately, we were treated to a tape of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice punching out his then-fiancee in an Atlantic City hotel elevator several months ago. Immediately, the backlash came right in at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, asking whether or not he or anyone from the league had already seen this.

More from NFL

On Wednesday we were treated to an AP report that law enforcement officials say that they indeed did send tape of the act to the NFL offices for investigaation, contradicting basically everything people from the NFL had been saying that they had not seen the video prior to Monday morning when the public saw it.

Well immediately after this news on Wednesday, Fox’s Mike Garafolo reached out to an NFL spokesperson, and sticking to their guns despite law enforcement officials saying otherwise, they remain denying that the tape had ever reached their possession.

The heat on this whole situation continues to get hotter and hotter as the days go by, and you would hope that if they NFL is lying about seeing the tape, they would just fess up to it immediately to prevent any further damage.

There is little reason for law enforcement officials to lie about sending the video.
