The big topic in the NFL this week, other than the Ray Rice saga, has been the players getting together at some point this week and agreeing on a new marijuana testing policy. In particular, they wanted to raise the threshold of the testing, making things a bit more lenient. The voting was first expected to be done and completed by Tuesday night, however that never came to fruition.

Wednesday, however, appears to be a different story.
According to Ed Werder on ESPN, the players have cast their votes and have come to terms on a revamped drug agreement, which could make some currently suspended players very happy.

Drug suspensions in the NFL lately have been as rampant and fluid as ever, highlighted by the recent one-year suspension of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon and Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, among others.
It was reported this past spring that Gordon had failed a second marijuana test, and after a long fight through the appeals process, it was recently handed down to him that he would be out for the duration for the entire season.
Now, under this new agreement that’s being reported, Gordon, Welker and a host of others could immediately be brought back into the fold to help their teams through this young season.
