The St. Louis Rams lost Chris Long last Sunday in their loss to the Minnesota Vikings but the damage is apparently much worse than initially thought.

Long was taken out of the game with an ankle injury and it’s now looking like he’s going to be needing surgery to get back on track.

But as it turns out, he’s slated to miss more than just a few games as 8-10 weeks is more like the expected time the Rams will be without Long.

Per source, the Rams will consider using the IR-return designation on DE Chris Long, who is set to undergo ankle surgery.

Losing Long is going to set the Rams back as the team isn’t really off to a hot start and need to rely on their defensive prowess to stay in games. So far that prowess hasn’t been there and it will be even less present without Long in the lineup.
