The NFL season now has one week in the books. The first week had a few surprises and several very interesting games. All in all, in was a decent week for the Armchair Quarterback weekly picks, going 11-5. The games that I missed were Buffalo over Chicago, Tennessee over Kansas City, Atlanta over New Orleans, Minnesota over St. Louis, and Arizona over San Diego. I did manage to look good on a couple of picks including picking Miami to beat New England and Carolina to beat Tampa Bay (despite Cam Newton not playing), plus my survivor pool lock of the week (Lions to beat the Giants) paid off for any who may have taken the advice. While my goal is obviously to pick every game correct, I can live with an 11-5 start. Plus, it’s one more game than Ron Jaworski got right (the only major website prognosticator to beat me last season). So watch out Jaws, I’m coming for you!

Now it’s on to week two and a pretty intriguing set of games. Usually I can go down the list of weekly match ups and instantly have a strong feeling of who is going to win about two thirds of the games and then spend most of my time researching the final third. This week those numbers were reversed with only a handful of games having easy to make predictions. Weeks with multiple “toss up” games are where you separate the men from the boys when it comes to picking games. Anyone can look good when most of the games have a clear favorite. Hopefully this is one of those weeks where I prove to you that this Armchair Quarterback knows what he’s talking about.

So without further ado, let’s get to this week’s Armchair Quarterback picks of the week.
