Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been battling an ankle injury all week, leaving his status up in the air for the huge Sunday night showdown this week against the San Francisco 49ers, a big early season match up. However, all hope is not yet lost, even three days away from the game, as Marshall said after practice on Thursday that he hopes to get on the field and test out the ankle on Friday.

Marshall has battled through minor injuries in his career many times before, so that’s why there are still many withing the organization that are holding out hope that he can give it a go this weekend. The chemistry that Marshall is building with not only Jay Cutler under center, but the man opposite him, Alshon Jeffery, is vital to this team’s success throughout the season.
On Wednesday, Marshall reiterated to reporters that he will be ready to go come Sunday night.
“I’ll be ready to play,” Marshall said. “I’ll be ready to play.”
Last week the Bears opened up their season with a loss to the Buffalo Bills, 23-20. In the game, Marshall caught eight balls for 71 yards with a touchdown. Despite his good performance, the team has taken a lot of criticism, and losing Marshall is detrimental to the team’s growth this season.
