College football odds & predictions for Thursday and Friday week 3
By Mike Marteny
In case you missed it, I fared better in week 2, but I still sit at 37-46 after the first two weeks. At least I made progress in the right direction last week, no matter how small.

In case you are new to this, I pick every FBS vs. FBS game, but that ins’t hard enough. I do it against the spread!
This is for entertainment purposes only. I am not responsible for you losing your house, car, first born, or any other earthly possession because of my picks. I am a simple man. I cannot have that on my conscience.
If I do make a wager on any of these games, I will not let it be publicly known. This is merely a guideline.
This piece will focus on the Thursday and Friday games.
Louisiana Tech at North Texas(-3.5): After the show that the Mean Green put on last weekend, this looks really low. Is Louisiana Tech anywhere close to SMU? No! Do I dare use my lock this early in the week? Yes! Give me the Mean Green for my lock of the week!
Houston at (25)BYU(-17.5): This line opened at 13. I guess more people have watched the tape of the Houston opener against UTSA. They looked lousy in that game. BYU has the talent to make them look as bad, or worse, than the Roadrunners did. Give me BYU.
Toledo at Cincinnati(-10.5): This is a tough one because the Bearcats still have not played a game. Toledo didn’t look great against Missouri, but are they double digits worse than Cincinnati? I doubt it. Give me Toledo.
(8)Baylor(-34.5) at Buffalo: Well, Baylor put up 70 without Petty last weekend. There is a good chance that they do it again with him in there. If he is healthy, that is. Even so, Petty at 50% is better than anyone in a Buffalo uniform. This line is still climbing. For under 35, I will take it. Once it goes higher, I might not. Give me Baylor.
Look for the odds for Saturday’s early games up tomorrow evening. The rest of them will be up by noon Saturday!
