The Oakland Raiders decided to bring back Darren McFadden this offseason despite his downturn in production and despite adding former Pro Bowler Maurice Jones-Drew. But there are many Raiders fans now relishing the fact that McFadden is back, as having two starting caliber running backs has it’s perks.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, in the event that Jones-Drew can’t play against the Texans, then McFadden will get the ball as starter.
"If Jones-Drew can’t go Sunday against the Texans, then Darren McFadden will get the start and Latavius Murray and fullback Marcel Reece will also get some carries.Jones-Drew, in his first game for the Raiders after the Jaguars let him walk in free agency, ran for just 11 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for 12 yards in the loss to the Jets on Sunday."
McFadden has had his moments with the Raiders but overall has been a disappointment to the team and to those who believed in him as a first-round pick. Still, he’s proving to be useful for Oakland and that’s all they need out of him. As long as he can stay healthy, this may be one of McFadden’s better years as his reduced role has taken pressure off and made him a guy Oakland all of a sudden is leaning on again.
