The Dallas Cowboys finally found a running back in DeMarco Murray who could carry the load after a 1,000 yard season in 2013. The Cowboys don’t have Murray under contract after the 2014 season though, the final year of his rookie contract, and he understands it could be his last in Dallas.

“It is a business, so you can’t get [upset] over things like that,” Murray said, via the Dallas Morning News. “You got to have thick skin, I would say. Like I’ve said before, I love being here. I love playing with 9, 82 and 88. I love playing for Coach Garrett and this organization as a whole, so it’s something I’ll continue to strive for, continue to work hard for. Hopefully it happens. We’ll see.”

The contract situation doesn’t bother him though.

“It’s something I’m not worried about,” Murray said. “Never will be. That will take care of itself.”

Unfortunately for the Cowboys he could be driving the price up, making it even harder for the team to re-sign him. In the season opener, Murray rushed 22 times for 118 yards and a touchdown, and was the third ranked running back in Week 1 according to Pro Football Focus, out of 88.
