By Mike Marteny
Last week, I ended up with 45 points, which is still a respectable score. I missed the five point, four point, and one point games.

This week there are a lot of toss-ups in the Pick Em pool. This should be an interesting week.
These games are rated in order of most confident (10) to least confident (1).
10: UCLA over Texas: I know this is practically a home game for the Longhorns, but they just got blasted by BYU at home. UCLA’s apathy, especially on defense, makes me nervous. Just not nervous enough to pick Texas to win here. The Longhorns honestly looked worse than UCLA did last week.
9. Indiana over Bowling Green: The Hoosiers were one of the few teams that missed out on the bad week for the Big Ten(14) last week. And I know that BGSU is a MAC team, but they allowed a boatload of yards to Western Kentucky. Well, the Hoosiers’ offense is just as good, if not better than Western Kentucky’s.
8. Penn State over Rutgers: The Nittany Lions have been one of the most consistent teams so far. Their defense will take this over.
7. Missouri over Central Florida: UCF has looked good, but I think Mizzou takes this at home. Mauk could have some problems with the UCF defense, but the Knights were sloppy in the opener. Maybe the week off helped that sloppy play, maybe not. We will see!
6. Texas Tech over Arkansas: TT hasn’t looked great thus far, so this could be Arkansas’ chance to make a statement. The only problem is I think that the Tech offense will be too much for the Razorbacks.
5. Georgia over South Carolina: The Gamecock defense has holes, and Todd Gurley will find every single one of them.
4. Maryland over West Virginia: Trickett has had consistency problems. I feel more confident taking C.J. Brown and the Turtles.
3. South Florida over North Carolina State: The Wolfpack almost lost to Georgia Southern and stuggled with Old Dominion, both at home. This time the Bulls put them out of their misery.
2. Iowa State over Iowa: I saw a huge improvement from the Cyclones last week, despite losing to Kansas State. I can’t say the same for Iowa.
1. Virginia over Louisville: I am a believer in the Virginia defense.
