Jay Cutler may not have his favorite target when the Chicago Bears travel to California to take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football as Brandon Marshall is still nursing an injured ankle and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday.

Marshall has recorded at least 100 receptions in his two seasons in Chicago and has had at least 100 receptions every year of his NFL career that Cutler has been his starting quarterback, dating back to their time with the Denver Broncos, but Cutler could be in trouble if Marshall can’t give it a go vs. the 49ers.
The veteran receiver injured his ankle in the Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills and left the game for a time before returning at far less than 100 percent. Marshall was limited in Friday’s practice and did some light jobbing to test the ankle, according to ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson.
Adding to the troubles of the Bears is fellow Pro Bowl receiver, Alshon Jeffery, is also questionable for Sunday after injuring his hamstring in the Week 1 loss and missing the entire second half. He was also limited in Friday’s practice.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune tweeted he believes Marshall has the greater chance of playing than Jeffery.
To beat the vaunted 49ers and their stout defense, Cutler and the Bears may need both at 100 percent, so this could be a tough test for the Bears as they look to avoid an 0-2 start.
