After the dumpster fire that was the 2014 season, the New York Knicks are back with a new coach, seven new players, and a new strategy hand-crafted by the Zen Master himself.

While the Knicks made much needed changes, the question remains:  Will 2015 be any better for the Knicks?

Well, I don’t mean to go all Bill Clinton on you, but it really depends on what your definition of “better” is.

Will the Knicks be an improved team with a better record in 2015? It’s a hard maybe right now.

Last season was terrible, but the Knicks had an established NBA coach at the helm. This season, Derek Fisher takes over as head coach fresh off the boat from Oklahoma City and the Western Conference Finals that he played in… So, I can’t say the Knicks will have a better record with any level of certainty.

I can, however, say the Knicks will be more fun to watch than last season, unless you’re a fan of bad basketball and thoroughly enjoy watching the Knicks suck. If you’re one of those people, please calm down. The Knicks have sucked for the better part of the last 14 years. Whatever grudge you’re holding should be gone.

With Phil Jackson calling the shots behind the scenes, I think he’ll at least get the players to buy into the offense and into the strategy. The Knicks may not win because they have some terrible, terrible inherent flaws, but they’ll at least try for 48 minutes most of the time, something they did not do with any consistency last season.

There is hope, I believe for Knicks fans, though. The East is still a far worse conference than the West. A mediocre .500 record could get the Knicks to the sixth-seed in the East next season. It starts with the roster. They have to be better than they were last season.

Let’s take a look!
