2. New Orleans Saints – Mercedes Benz Superdome

The Superdome wasn’t always the great home field advantage that it is today when fans used to wear paper bags over their heads in embarrassment of the product on the field, but that all changed after Hurricane Katrina and the signing of Drew Brees.

When the Superdome reopened on September 25, 2006 against the Atlanta Falcons and Steve Gleason blocked the punt in the opening minutes, that place awoke with such a fervor unlike anything seen before in the NFL. That moment is immortalized with a statue outside the stadium that holds 76,468 and is easily the loudest indoor stadium in the NFL.

New Orleans went undefeated at home last year and many of them coming in blowout fashion with the outcome already decided at halftime and the Saints rarely trailing in the second half.

The Superdome has hosted Super Bowls, college football bowl games, The Final Four and many other sporting events, but it is the home of the Saints who have taken advantage of the recent awakening in New Orleans to host one of the top two home field advantages in the NFL.
