The Giants are probably most interested in Boyd to play on their practice squad, as Eli Manning and Ryan Nassib are set as starter and backup, respectively. If the Giants are certain they want another quarterback, then Boyd will have indirect competition. The Giants worked out quarterbacks Matt Scott and Tyler Wilson, both of whom spent the preseason in Cincinnati.
Boyd visited the Bills as well on Tuesday, but they did not sign him. This could be the case for Boyd again, as he struggles to find a place with an NFL team.
Boyd was 8-of-17 for 98 yards and a touchdown in the preseason before being waived by the Jets on August 30. He was a part of their final cuts.

Boyd has never appeared to be a strong enough passer to play in the NFL. The Jets said they might consider switching his position, reportedly. They did not act upon those considerations. His ability to run helps him extend plays. It might make him valuable as a scout team quarterback, emulating a mobile quarterback.
