Tyson Chandler thinks he’s a better player now than in 2011
Tyson Chandler is bigger and badder than ever. Chandler, who spent the 2010-11 season with Mavericks, explained that he’s never been in a better place during his basketball career. He’s retuning to Dallas at the perfect time.

“I think I’m better in understanding the game mentally,” Chandler said, via DallasNews.com. “Physically, I’m in an incredible place. I haven’t felt this good in a long time. Over the years you learn different things. The more you are able to play this game, the better you are mentally. I’m excited to bring that to the table here again.”
The 31-year-old veteran has played on five different NBA teams in 13 years. He must have a good sense for locker room dynamics, and he thinks this Maverick’s team is special.
“I love the makeup of the team. We’ve been here for the last couple of weeks getting after it, playing pick up [games] and ran the hills yesterday as a team. We’ve been training as a team. People don’t know, but this is pretty early to have every player here already. I just like the makeup of this team. I think we’ve got great young guys. It’s a nice mix up of veterans and young players.”
The Mavericks also signed Chandler Parsons and re-signed Dirk Nowitzki. They couldn’t have added Parsons and Chandler if Nowitzki hadn’t taken a pay cut, for which Chandler is has unending appreciation.
He said: “We don’t have enough time on this show for me to explain the type of respect I have for Dirk Nowitzki…”
