If there is one thing you can count on each and every season, it is the St. Louis Cardinals playing meaningful baseball in September and October. That is the case once again in 2014.

With St. Louis making their usual postseason push, there are mostly good vibes around the team. One bit of unfortunate news has emerged, however, when it comes to the status of 2013 playoff sensation Michael Wacha.
Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that Wacha has been removed from the rotation until further notice because he did not look right in his two starts back from a shoulder injury. The team is going to give him rest in case his struggles represent a lingering issue with the stress fracture that had recently healed in his throwing shoulder.
"Wacha said he planned to be pitching by the end of the season, but with just two weeks remaining, it would be difficult to see Wacha being able to knock off at least six innings in a game, which would lead him to be considered for a division-series start, if the Cardinals get that far.Wacha said, “Things just weren’t feeling right, coming out of those starts. It wasn’t feeling the way it needed to be feeling.”"
In 17 starts this season, Wacha has gone 56 with a 3.14 ERA and worked 97.1 innings.
