No. 14 Ole Miss continued to it’s impressive run to start the season with a dominating 56-15 win over Lousiana-Lafayette at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. Saturday. Senior quarterback Bo Wallace for Ole Miss had another impressive performance as he finished 23-for-28 with 316 yards, two touchdowns and one pick before he came out of the game mid-way through the third quarter.

Also impressive was the Rebels’ running game which accounted for 214 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Ole Miss offense. The Ole Miss defense also picked off Louisiana-Lafayette quarterback Terrance Broadway three times and once for a defensive touchdown.
Ole Miss (3-0) has never lost to Louisiana-Lafayette (1-2) they got started early making sure it wouldn’t happen Saturday when I’Tavius Mathers rushed for a 56-yard touchdown on the first drive and the Rebels pushed out to a 28-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
Vince Sanders was Wallace’s top target and led the game in receiving with 124 yards and two touchdowns, both coming on back to back drives in the second quarter.
Ole Miss ended with 554 total offensive yards and allowed 322 from Louisiana-Lafayette.
Louisiana-Lafayette was picked to win the Sun Belt Conference this year in a preseason poll by the league’s coaches, but they’ve lost two in a row after a 48-20 loss to Louisiana Tech last week. They didn’t score a touchdown until late in the third quarter when Alonzo Harris rushed for an 8-yard score.
Ole Miss opened up their first week against Boise State and took care of them 35-13 despite three interceptions from Wallace. Then, in week two, the Rebels dominated SEC opponent Vanderbilt 41-3 leading to another victory against the Cajuns in week three.
Ole Miss looks to make their case in the SEC West this season, they haven’t won the SEC since 1963. They’re led by senior quarterback Bo Wallace who has a 72.7 percent completion percentage this season, as well as a defense that includes sophomore superstar Robert Nkemdiche.
The Ragin’ Cajuns will travel to take on Boise State next Saturday and the Ole Miss Rebels, who continue to sneak up in the polls, will have a bye week and then play Memphis Sept. 27.
