Pay day has come for dominating St. Louis Rams edge rusher Robert Quinn, and it is a big pay day indeed.

But of course, these numbers are just the bright and shiny preliminary numbers, and later on we will find out the real numbers which will not be quite so impressive.
For now, Adam Schefter is reporting that Quinn has signed a four-year extension worth $66.575 million with $41.2 million guaranteed.
But before you go crazy yelling about the guaranteed money, let’s wait for the break down of the contract to find out how much he’s really getting at signing. This will likely prove to be a pay-as-you-go contract.
No matter what Quinn’s final contract numbers prove to be, there is no doubt that he is getting paid big time, and he certainly deserves the dough.
The 14th overall pick in 2011 out of North Carolina, Quinn blossomed in 2013 into one of the league’s great pass rushing defensive lineman, scoring his first Pro Bowl selection, his first first-team All Pro selection and finishing second on the Pro Football Focus list of the top 101 players.
He also won the PFWA Defensive Player of the Year Award. He played in all 16 games in 2013, racking up 19 sacks and 7 forced fumbles.
In 2012, Quinn had strong numbers with 10.5 sacks and 2 passes defensed.
A cornerstone of the Rams’ defense, Quinn is now under team control through 2019. In most people’s eyes, J.J. Watt is still the best defensive player in the league, but Robert Quinn is a close second.
By the end of the year, Quinn might be #1 on that list. He is the most fearsome pure speed rusher in the NFL today.
