For all the fans and fantasy football heads hoping a few suspended players return following the acceptance of the NFL’s revised drug policy, you may have to wait another weeks as Pro Football Talk says it’s unlikely the suspensions are lifted for tomorrow’s games.
"The NFL has a new, comprehensive drug policy. Unless it doesn’t.The NFLPA approved a term sheet on Friday, but the two sides have failed to turn that term sheet into a final agreement. As a result, the players whose suspensions would be lifted by a new drug policy with retroactive application won’t have their suspensions lifted."
The most popular of players suspended who will be freed by the rules agreed to by the NFL and NFLPA is Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker who received a four-game suspension for testing positive in summer drug test. Other names who’ve popped up on the list are Orlando Scandrick of the Dallas Cowboys, Brian Tyms and Brandon Browner of the New England Patriots, and Daryl Washington of the Washington Redskins.

Cleveland Browns stud wideout Josh Gordon’s suspension will also be affected by the rule changes, but unlike Welker–and Scandrick–Gordon’s suspension will only be shorted, reducing the penalty from a full 16-game season to 10 games meaning he’d be set to return when the Browns face off against the Atlanta Falcons in late November.
With the NFL and NFLPA having agreed to a deal to alter the rules, the changes will likely take affect in Week 3 of the NFL season.
