For the fourth time in five years, the South Carolina Gamecocks knocked off the Georgia Bulldogs, hanging on Saturday for a 38-35 win at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C.
The Twittersphere, as always, was quick to erupt with reaction to the outcome, including some happy boasts from the South Carolina side:
Y'all remember those Clemson fans saying Georgia was going to destroy Carolina?? HAHA. Yeah, me too. #DawgsOnBottom #Gamecocks

Of course, the Bulldogs—who came in ranked sixth in the Associated Press poll after hammering Clemson two weeks ago to open the season two weeks—were taking shots from more locales than just South Carolina:
Georgia lost, like we all knew in our hearts would happen.

A Summer in Georgia was spent talking about how the arrival of one new coordinator would make all the difference.

Every year we're told Georgia is amazing if not unbeatable. Every year they lose 2-3 games. Every year. Every. Year.

Georgia fans themselves, meanwhile, were trying to make sense of another crushing early-season loss:
The hardest thing in the world is being a Georgia fan. But Go Dawgs. Seasons just getting started

Don't want to hear any ignorant Georgia fans blame this on Bobo, refs or anything else. We didn't play good enough to win. Simple as that

But even in defeat, there is hope for the Bulldogs:
Georgia's got 'em right where they want 'em: last two times they lost to South Carolina, they won the SEC East.
