McCann runs over to make a play on this foul ball behind first and nearly injures himself tumbling over the ball boy’s seat.
The ball boy – or ball man in this case – manages to get out of McCann’s way, which is good news because McCann colliding with an Orioles ball boy would not be a good look. At all.
In the first angle, McCann disappears behind the corner of the wall there where it juts out and for a second you think he might be unconscious or dead, but it turns out he’s only taking a little rest.
And the ball was way back in the seats so McCann ran all the way over there and fell down for nothing.
Running without catcher’s gear on must have thrown off McCann’s sense of balance. Yeah. That’s the explanation. Sounds good.
