After botching the Ray Rice case in just about as bad a fashion as you can, the NFL must now sit and wait to see what they will do with Peterson following the abuse of his child at his own hand.
According to Jay Glazer from Fox Sports, Peterson will be punished under the new domestic abuse policy the NFL has instituted in wake of it’s bungling of Ray Rice’s case.
Adrian Peterson’s case will NOT be reviewed under personal conduct policy. Under domestic abuse policy instead, per @JayGlazer.

This means that if Peterson is found guilty of abusing his 4-year old child, he’s going to be suspended for six games with no questions asked. A second run in with abuse would result in the banishment of one of football’s most prolific and legendary running backs.
if that doesn’t get the message across to anyone then nothing apparently ever will.
