The San Diego Chargers must own a time machine, because Antonio Gates is playing like he did in 2010.
Up 27-14 in the third quarter over the Super Bowl defending Seattle Seahawks, the Chargers are doing what the Green Bay Packers couldn’t do in Week 1–passing the ball for touchdowns.
Quarterback Philip Rivers has thrown all three of his touchdowns to Gates, whose most recent catch was his most impressive.

Let’s recap: Rivers felt the rush after the San Diego’s pocket collapsed from Seattle’s defensive line. Rivers stepped up and did some sort of hop pass to find Gates 21 yards away in the end zone. Gates made a one-handed grab with his left hand between two Seahawks defenders to come up with the score. Just like they drew it up.
So far, Rivers is 23-of-31 passing for 246 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also has six rushes for 18 yards. Gates has six catches for 81 yards and three scores.
The Chargers were 6 point underdogs going into the game, but Gates’ efforts have them in position for a possible upset.
