During the Arizona Cardinals’ 18-17 victory over the San Diego Chargers, veteran outside linebacker John Abraham admitted he didn’t feel as into the game as usual. Then, in the third quarter, he suffered a concussion. Abraham has had problems with memory loss because of his concussions and is now mulling retirement.

According to Kent Somers of AZCentral Sports, Abraham won’t make a decision about retirement until after the weekend if he does not retyrn by Tuesday, he won’t able to play this season because of the roster exemption the Cardinals have for him.
"Cardinals outside linebacker John Abraham, who left the team this week isn’t expected to make a decision about retiring until after the weekend.The Cardinals have a roster exemption for Abraham, who will not play on Sunday against the Giants.If Abraham doesn’t return to the team by Tuesday, he will not be able to play this season."
The Cardinals were hopeful Abraham could make an impact getting to the quarterback, especially after they were hit hard by injuries, losing veteran defensive tackle Darnell Dockett for the season.
Abraham is in his 15th NFL season. In his career, the former South Carolina Gamecock has also played for the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons. He’s made 444 tackles, 133.5 sacks, 48 forced fumbles and one interception.
