Ellington had been listed as questionable on Friday because of a foot injury. Ellington had 13 carries for 53 yards in Monday night’s 18-17 win over the San Diego Chargers before he had to be spelled by Jonathan Dwyer.
As a rookie last year, Ellington was second on the team in rushing with 652 yards on 118 carries and moved up to No. 1 on the depth chart when Rashard Mendenhall became a free agent and ultimately retired.
Palmer, on the other hand, tried to test his injured shoulder Sunday morning and it was determined he could not go. Backup Drew Stanton will start, seeing his first game action since 2010.
