The 6’2, 206-pounder attends Union City High School in New Jersey and could play wide receiver defensive back. He’s ranked as the country’s 39th-best athlete prospect, the 11th-best overall prospect in the state of New Jersey and the 432nd-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Kelly’s teammate, 4-Star offensive lineman, Steven Gonzalez, is also committed and he’s very excited about playing with Kelly in college.
“Oh man, I’m stoked,” Gonzalez said on Sunday evening via Sean Fitz of 24/7 Sports. “To just see a teammate go to college with you, it’s definitely great. That means my coaches don’t have to go anywhere but Penn State when they go out to see their guys play.”
“He’s great player and a great teammate,” said Gonzalez. “He works hard, he’s got great athletic ability and can play linebacker, safety or anywhere on that defense. He’s a physical player out there, a great student who does well in the classroom and he’s a great get for Penn State.”
Kelly also holds offers from the Boston College Eagles, Michigan State Spartans and Nebraska Cornhuskers, among others.
Penn State has the Big 10’s top-ranked class and the nation’s seventh-best class.
