Dodgers vs Giants final score: Dodgers blast the Giants 17-0, stay atop NL West
By Hayden Kane
The Los Angeles Dodgers are in San Francisco this weekend for a key series against the Giants. With their division lead dwindling in the National League West, the Dodgers sent Zack Greinke to the mound on Saturday night to start opposite Tim Hudson for the Giants. It was supposed to be a pitcher’s duel but a blowout happened instead, with the Dodgers humiliating the Giants by a final score of 17-0.

Hudson was roughed up in a major way in this one, only making it through one inning while allowing six earned runs. He then handed things over to another big-name pitcher in Tim Lincecum. The former Cy Young award-winner-turned-reliever also pitched poorly, surrendering five earned runs in just three innings of work. From there this game was a laugher, with the Dodgers cruising to an easy win.
The offensive stars were many on the Dodgers’ side of things, with Matt Kemp delivering three hits and Hanley Ramirez enjoying a four-hit night. Juan Uribe and Scott Van Slyke both hit home runs for the Dodgers.
With the game already well out of hand, Greinke put an exclamation mark on things with a two-run home run of his own, with a bat flip to boot.
The Dodgers were on the opposite end of a lopsided game against the Giants on Friday night; with this victory on Saturday, they now set up a key rubber game on Sunday at AT&T Park. Los Angeles is currently 2.0 games ahead of San Francisco in the standings.
