Eli Manning gives Giants the lead with touchdown pass (GIF)

Down 10-7 to the Arizona Cardinals in the second quarter, Eli Manning looked like the Eli of old, leading the New York Giants on an eight-play, 74-yard drive that ended with a pass to Daniel Fells in the endzone for a touchdown to take a 14-10 lead.

Manning took a beating in a Week 1, 35-14 loss to the Detroit Lions. He had a terrible outing, completing just 18-of-33 passes for 163 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He was also sacked twice and finished with a quarterback rating of 53.0.

So far against the Cardinals, though, Manning seems to be bouncing back. He’s completed 19 of 23 passes for 218 yards, two touchdowns and one pick. His two touchdown throws capped of a 90-yard and 74-yard drive respectively.

Last season was a rough one for the little Manning brother, who threw 27 interceptions compared to just 18 touchdowns. The inefficiency led many to question if he was the quarterback of the future for the Giants, who won two Super Bowls with him behind center. This season, the Giants will need him to step up if they want any chance to win the NFC East. Against the Cardinals today, it seems he is.
