Geno Smith connects with Eric Decker to take 14-0 lead (GIF)

It’s the Green Bay Packers vs the New York Jets. The quarterback drops back, standing strong in a collapsing pocket. He finds his reciever streaking down the left sideline and drops the ball into his arms, leading him into the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown.

No, I’m not talking about Aaron Rodgers. That was Geno Smith’s second touchdown of the game, completing a deep pass to newly acquired receiver Eric Decker to give the Jets an early 14-0 lead over the Packers.

Thanks to Smith, the Jets are up two scores over Green Bay. The first touchdown came on a rollout run by Smith after the Jets took over on the Green Bay 16-yard line after a Rodgers fumble. Good quarterbacks don’t let opportunities go to waste, and Smith is doing his best impression of a good quarterback.

So far, Smith has completed 3-of-4 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown to go along with three rushes for 10 yards and a rushing touchdown. Rodgers, on the other hand, is 6-of-10 for 70 yards and a fumble.

Who would have thought Smith would be outplaying Rodgers in the first quarter?
