The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Blake Bortles this year to help lead the franchise into the future but for now he sits on the bench waiting. There’s only outside pressure that the Jaguars could care less about asking for Bortles to start, while internally the team seems to have a good grasp on when the rookie will play and when he will not.

According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, it might not be long before we see Bortles taking over the offense this season for Henne.
"The Jaguars sound loath to starting Bortles when the pressure is on to win their first game. It sounds crazy, but a win Sunday over the Redskins could quicken the move to Bortles for the above reason."
It’s not that people hate Henne, it’s that there’s an anticipation about Bortles and what he can be for the team moving forward. He was the No. 3 overall pick in the draft and that’s not something to just sneeze at and move on. Jacksonville needs a franchise quarterback to help them turn things around and that’s where Brotles enters the equation.
Jacksonville doesn’t want him to win the team their first game of the season, they want to grrom him and give him as little pressure possible so that one day he’ll be able to win the last game of the year.
