Lance Stephenson: 5 ways he’ll impact the Charlotte Hornets
By Evan Massey
The Charlotte Hornets were looking to make a splash in free agency this past offseason, and were hoping to find a wing player that could help Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker. They first looked to sign Utah Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward to a max contract, but the Jazz chose to match that offer. After Hayward was matched by the Jazz, the Hornets turned their attention to shooting guard Lance Stephenson.
After a very short period of negotiating, the Hornets agreed to a three-year contract worth $27 million with Stephenson. He became one of the NBA’s hottest names due to the on-court antics that he showed with LeBron James last year in the NBA playoffs. Despite all of the heat that he took because of his attitude and antics, he is a great basketball player that has shown outstanding potential over the past couple of seasons.
It’s going to be a very exciting season for the Hornets, and Stephenson is going to be a huge reason for that excitement. He is a playmaker on the court and has a great personality to go along with his basketball skill. Charlotte may very well have gotten the biggest steal in free agency, and could have found one of the next up-and-coming young stars.
What five ways will Stephenson make an impact for the Hornets in the 2014-15 season?
