The inactives have been released for Sunday’s Detroit Lions game at Carolina. Both teams got a win in week one, but will have to battle these injuries, and some rain in Charlotte, to move to 2-0.

More from Carolina Panthers

DETROIT LIONS INJURIES:

  • Ryan Broyles, WR, inactive
  • Don Carey, SS, inactive
  • James Ihedigbo, SS, inactive
  • Kellen Moore, QB, inactive
  • Kevin Ogletree, WR, inactive
  • LaAdrian Waddle, T, inactive
  • Larry Webster, DE, inactive
  • Reggie Bush, RB, active
  • Brandon Pettigrew, TE, active

The Lions will be a little thin at the safety spot, but they have Reggie Bush, one of the more electric playmakers in the NFL. He does have a tough matchup with the Panthers defense though.

CAROLINA PANTHERS INJURIES:

  • Tre Boston, SS, inactive
  • Greg Hardy, DE, inactive
  • Andrew Norwell, G, inactive
  • Joe Webb, QB, inactive
  • DeAngelo Williams, RB, inactive
  • Garry Williams, T, inactive
  • Jason Williams, LB, inactive
  • Cam Newton, QB, active
  • Greg Olson, TE, active

The big news here was the deactivation of Greg Hardy because of his impending domestic violence trial. Star quarterback Cam Newton, who missed the opener, is going to start today. How tender his ribs still are remain to be seen. He will have one of his favorite receivers in tight end Greg Olson to throw to as well.

Panther fans are excited to see how Cam Newton will mesh with Kelvin Benjamin, who had an outstanding NFL debut last weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He seemed to have a good rapport with Newton’s backup, Derek Anderson. The Panthers and their fans hope this continues with Newton calling the shots.
