The Baltimore Ravens released RB Ray Rice–and the NFL suspended him indefinitely–following his domestic abuse ordeal. The Minnesota Vikings deactivated RB Adrian Peterson following arrest for child abuse. The Carolina Panthers, albeit late, deactivated DE Greg Hardy for week 2.

Now all eyes on are on the San Francisco 49ers as Ray McDonald has found himself in a situation similar to the aforementioned ones, being arrested for domestic abuse. And according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, a decision won’t come until the law handles the case and in the instance McDonald is found a liar, the team will proceed to cut him.
Per @RapSheet on GameDay Morning: 49ers not hiding behind due process w/ Ray McDonald. They believe his version. Will cut him if he's lying.

As long as McDonald remains active–he played last week, landing 3 tackles against the Cowboys–the 49ers will remain a contradiction, mainly 49ers head coach head coach Jim Harbaugh.
You ask me how I feel about domestic violence. I can be very clear about that. If someone physically abuses a woman and/or physically or mentally abuses or hurts a child, then there’s no understanding,” Harbaugh said. “There’s no tolerance for that.”
Those were the words of Harbaugh following McDonald’s arrest. And even with his lack of tolerance for the case, McDonald remains active on the roster. It’s fair to wait on the legal system to dole out a punishment, but the 49ers are able to put matters into their own hands and have failed to do so.
The Carolina Panthers were in this situation, but put matters in their own hands by deactivating Hardy. Considering the league is under fire for their mismanagement of domestic violence situations, it’ll be odd if the 49ers don’t follow suit with McDonald.
