The weekend began with the awful news that Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson had been arrested for beating his son.

The Vikings quickly made the decision that Peterson would not play when the Vikings played host to the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday, the Vikings and Patriots released their inactives and Peterson has indeed been deactivated.
Joining Peterson is quarterback Christian Ponder, among others.
The Patriots will be without starting linebacker Jamie Collins. They have also deactivated wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins in favor of Aaron Dobson, who is active.
