The Minnesota Vikings had a rough day agains the New England Patriots on Sunday. Quarterback Matt Cassel in particularly had a bad day, throwing four interceptions.

It led the Vikings fans to chant for rookie Teddy Bridgewater to be put in, and you can bet that the Twin Cities sports talk radio shows will spend all week discussing that topic.

The Vikings won’t discuss playing Bridgewater instead of Cassel though.

From Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

"Vikings coach Mike Zimmer diffused any possible quarterback controversy by saying that Matt Cassel will start at quarterback next Sunday at New Orleans.…Cassel said he appreciates Zimmer not having a quick hook with him."

Sorry Vikings fans, you’ll have to wait another week at least before Cassel gets pulled. It is a little bit of an over reaction to pull him after just one game, especially given the way the New Orleans Saints have been playing, he could do just find next week.
