NBA players do a lot of different things during the offseason. Some use the free time to work on their games alone in the gym. Some play in pickup games in places like the Drew League or Jamaal Crawford’s Seattle Pro-Am. Some play for their countries in international competitions like the FIBA World Cup. And some become social media superstars like Nick Young has this offseason.

Since the Lakers’ season ended in late April Swaggy P has delighted us with videos and pictures on his Instagram account detailing everything from his son playing pop-a-shot to a party with friends that his lady friend Iggy Azalea put together for him. Through it all he has given us amazing accounts of his daily life the way only Swaggy P can. So which were the top 5 videos Nick Young gave us this summer? Let’s take a look.

5.

This video comes from the party that Azalea threw for Young in late July and would probably rank a bit higher if it featured Young more. The best part of the clip, which features Young and his friends (including DeMarcus Cousins and Dorrell Wright) doing the Shmoney Dance is easily the face Cousins makes at the end. A solid way to start the countdown.

There are a few things here that make this video great.

1. Nick Young played with random kids in NYC. It will always be cool when professional athletes do stuff like this because it gives those fans a story that they can tell forever.

2. Nick Young played what I assume was only a point or two of basketball outside in what looks like skinny jeans and loafers. It can’t be easy to maneuver around the court in an outfit like that so props to Swaggy for making it work.

3. The celebration. Young could have scored as many points as he wanted against these kids yet after hitting the J he celebrates like he made a big shot in some type of important game. It is moments like this that make Young so lovable.

There are a few videos of Nick’s son (also named Nick) on his Instagram account and I can see him becoming a rival to Chris Paul‘s son for the best NBA kid. In this particular video Lil Nick is showing off his pretty good Pop-a-shot skills with the encouragement of his father behind him. The best part of the video is easily when Lil Nick looks back fairly confused at his father’s yelling.

Some quotes from this absolute gem of a video:

“This is how I’m rolling now.”

“Rich people walk like this.”

“I don’t walk around my house no more, I just ride. Don’t use my feet at all.”

“It’s the never get tired man. Never, never get tired.”

For any other NBA player this would be the runaway number one without any hope of a challenger. But this isn’t any NBA player. This is Nick “Swaggy P” Young, which leads us to the number one video.

Nick Young explaining he got the nickname Swaggy P by TALKING TO GOD IN A DREAM. You can’t convince me there is a better video on all of NBA Instagram. It just isn’t possible.
