Brook Lopez Commences Photo Shoot On the Moon (Probably)

We’re 11 days out from training camp travel for teams that will be doing the international tour in the preseason. We’re two weeks out from training camps in general being open for NBA teams.

Yes, my friends, the season is nearly upon us, and not a moment too soon. And with the turning of the leaves and the arrival of the (friendly) bouncing of basketballs, it’s time once again for … pre-media day photo shoots!

Okay, maybe that’s not the most exciting thing in the world. And in all honesty, this picture-of-a-picture (or Media Day Inception, as certain quantum scientists are referring to it) of Brook Lopez standing in front of a green screen isn’t that entertaining, although it’s worth noting that holy Shammgod, he’s almost as tall as the tableau behind him.

Bropez seems to be waiting, just kind of chilling, as the green screen looms.

But this is Brook Lopez. Giving a Lopez brother a green screen is a one-way ticket to magic. And while the Brooklyn Nets will probably find the typical uses for Brook’s picture before that magical backdrop where anything can happen, just imagine the possibilities if Brook and Robin got their hands on a green screen for a day.

I mean, the Lopez brothers are avid nerds, and we love them for it. Give the two of them unlimited computer power and a blank slate and we’re all heading to the moon for an epic space battle between an interstellar army of cats who fight for justice and the amassed might of the BrooklyKnight, deposed ruler of Nets-dom.

Where else might Brook take us? After all, the moon is an obvious answer, as is the inside of a volcano to visit a supervillain’s lair. But what dreams do Brook Lopezes dream? What wonders might he have for us on that magic green screen of his?
