Cowboys’ Tony Romo: ‘I can throw it better than I ever have’
By Mike Dyce
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo injured his back and needed surgery for the second offseason in a row. That cast a lot of doubt over Romo’s future and ability to be the quarterback leading the franchise forward over the next few seasons.
Then there was the three interception debacle in the season opener that further cast doubt on Romo’s future and abilities. The Cowboys, and Romo, bounced back in a strong win over the Tennessee Titans. That win though came with a new focus on the run game, not Romo’s arm however.
But Romo is quick to address any questions about his arm.
“Listen, I’m telling you guys, the reason I’m excited is because of the way I’m throwing the football,’’ Romo said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Physically just piercing it when I want to.
“I can throw it better than I ever have. The rest of it is part of the game and footwork and your hips. Did you find the guy at the right time, or are you working here and throwing it over there so it’s like you don’t get anything on it?’’
Romo also gets defensive over a pass that tight end Jason Witten had to knock away to prevent it from being intercepted.
