Could New York Giants release Eli Manning in 2015?
By Josh Hill
The New York Giants are 0-2 and the scapegoat for the troubles once again is quarterback Eli Manning. After two just abysmal games, there are once again questions being raised about his job security in New York.

It’s not the first time Eli has been the subject of rumors like this and it won’t be the last. However, it might be the last time these rumors are brought up in New York as Manning’s time with the Giants could be running out. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk opines that just like his older brother Peyton, a bloated contract and a grim future may lead to Eli getting cut loose the first chance the Giants get.
"With a salary of $17 million for 2015, anything other than a similarly dramatic turnaround could mean that Eli, like his brother Peyton Manning, will finish his career with another team.Especially if, after the season, there’s another coach and/or another General Manager in New York."
The Giants drafted Syracuse standout Ryan Nassib with a high draft pick back in 2013, and that was met with raised eyebrows around the league. Now that Manning is struggling once again, and after Nassib put together an impressive preseason, eyes are starting to turn to the young quarterback as he may end up being Manning’s replacement after all.
Then again, if the season keeps up this way, the Giants may land a top draft pick and someone like Marcus Mariota to replace Manning with as well.
