NFL admits mistake in Seattle Seahawks TD vs San Diego Chargers
By Cory Buck
The NFL took a rare moment to actually admit fault in something. Of course, their mistake took place on the field so it was much easier for the PR team to handle than anything that’s been happening off the field lately. Percy Harvin stepped out of bounds in the middle of a 51-yard touchdown run for the Seattle Seahawks when they played at the San Diego Chargers. The play was reviewed, like all scoring plays, but ultimately upheld, leading to a retroactive ‘my bad’ from the league.

“Following the first quarter touchdown run by Percy Harvin, the game should have been stopped for a replay review, either by the replay official or by the officiating staff in New York,” said NFL spokesman Michael Signora per NFL.com.
“The touchdown was incorrectly confirmed, and as a result, the game was not stopped. Had the game been stopped for a replay review, the touchdown would have been reversed because Harvin stepped out of bounds at the San Diego 21-yard line.”
It’s no harm no foul for the Chargers though, who beat the defending Super Bowl champs 30-21 in a shocker that saw QB Phillip Rivers find Antonio Gates for three touchdowns. The Seahawks haven’t lost since December 22, when they fell 17-10 to the Arizona Cardinals.
