Once the NFL agreed to a new drug policy, it was clear many of the players suspended in the offseason for drug-related charges would return to the field quickly.

More from NFL

According to AdamSchefter of ESPN.com, Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick, New York Giants offensive lineman Eric Herman and former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Spencer Nealy are among those who will be reeinstated while Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon and former Indianapolis Colts’ wide receiver LaVon Brazil have had their suspensions reduced to 10 games.

Schefter posted the news on his facebook page.

"Filed from Mort and me:Upon agreement of term sheet for new drug policy, these players will be reinstated: Broncos WR Wes Welker, Rams WR Steadman Bailey, Cowboys DB Orlando Scandrick, Giants OL Eric Herman and former Vikings DE Spencer Nealy.WRs Josh Gordon and former Colt LaVon Brazill will have their season-long suspensions reduced to 10 games.Gordon continues to be allowed to work out at the Browns’ training facility. The seven above names are part of the estimated 20 who will be affected by the new policy once it is approved by the NFL, which is likely to occur in the next 24 hours."

Obviously, this huge news for these teams. The Broncos haven’t exactly struggled but they haven’t been the high-powered offense they were in 2013 and Welker could change that. The Cowboys’ struggles against the pass have been well-documented so Scandrick should give them a lift. The Rams, who are without quaterback Sam Bradford, can use any help they can get.

Gordon, of course, is the biggest name on the list – he developed into one of the best receivers in football last year.
