Isaiah Thomas used to be the Pizza Guy in Sacramento. Now it’s Ben McLemore’s turn.
Two years ago, Thomas struck a deal with local pizza chain, Pizza Guys, and created a commercial that went viral…well, sort of. Naturally, thanks to the commercial, Thomas got the nickname “Pizza Guy” in Sacramento, and according to The Sacramento Bee, that commercial helped the chain out in a big way by increasing traffic and sales. Isaiah was just that loveable and convincing.
"Morgan said that franchisees reported an increase in traffic from people who heard about the chain because of Thomas and the ‘I’m A Pizza Guy’ campaign. Fans began to shout the ‘Pizza Guy’ moniker at Thomas whether he was making a play on the court or strolling through a busy airport, Morgan said."
However, now that Thomas has packed his bags and gone to Phoenix to play for the Suns, the relationship between the two ended, leaving Sacramento Pizza Guy-less for the last few months. But yesterday, it was announced that second year guard Ben McLemore will step up to the plate and fill Thomas’ shoes.

It didn’t take long for McLemore to get to work on his first day on the job, either.

According to the same report, McLemore was ordering their pizza before the chain even approached him, so it seems like a match made in heaven. Now all he has to do is go around Sacramento delivering pizzas every once in a blue moon and average 20.3 points per game. You know, just like Isaiah Thomas did.
