Greg Hardy returns to practice for Carolina Panthers
By Cory Buck
Greg Hardy will practice this week for the Carolina Panthers, but that doesn’t mean he’ll suit up in a game any time soon. Joseph Person at the Charlotte Observer writes that “the team has not made a decision on his status for Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh or for the rest of the season.”

The Panthers succumbed at the last minute to outside pressure to sit Hardy, rendering him inactive for the team’s Week 2 victory over the Detroit Lions. Now the question will be if the team’s Week 1 game was the last Hardy will play in Carolina or if the team has something else in mind.
“We’re going to have to look at things and look at what’s going on,” coach Ron Rivera said. “We’re going to have to get a feel for some things, and, as I said, Dave and the guys upstairs are going to do their due diligence in terms of looking at what our options are.”
Of course, this will likely fall out of the Panthers’ control at some level. The NFL is slowly reacting to the tremendous pressure to hold its players accountable for off-field violence, which means the league could take action before the Panthers ever get a chance.
For now, Hardy will practice and remain with the team, but expect more light to be shed on this latest development sooner rather than later as the NFL can’t handle the bad PR it’s gotten this past week for too long.
“This is a very fluid situation, and we’ll see what happens,” Rivera concluded.
