According to Jon Krawczynski from the Associated Press, Nike has pulled all Adrian Peterson jerseys and merchandise from their stores in the Twin Cities area. For those who don’t know, the Twin Cities area include Minneapolis, St. Paul and all of the dozen surrounding suburbs — most of which provide big business for Peterson jerseys in the heart of Vikings country.
He notes though that you can still buy the jerseys online at the Nike store.
Losing Peterson jersey’s in Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding Twin Cities areas is a gut punch to jersey sales for the Vikings. He’s without a doubt the team’s most valuable asset in terms of merchandising and to have Nike pull his uniform from the shelves is a sign that the company is taking a mighty stand against the player.
Don’t forget that Bloomington, Minnesota falls under the ‘Twins Cities’ umbrella which means that the giant Nike store, in addition to the official Vikings Pro Shop at Mall of America is no longer carrying Peterson jerseys.
That right there tells you all you need to know about how well received Peterson’s parenting methods are by those who support his professional lifestyle.
