ESPN College Pick Em picks for week 4

Last week’s ESPN College Pick Em picks were a disappointment. I missed my nine point game, and a couple of more in the middle. That said, it seems like a lot of people had as bad of a week as I did.

This week looks marginally easier. The picks are listed in order from most confidence (10) to least (1) for those of you that play the confidence version of the game.

10: Oklahoma over West Virginia: The Oklahoma defense has been outstanding so far this year, and Trevor Knight isn’t making nearly as many mistakes as last year. This could be a tough game, but I still like Oklahoma by double digits, which means they seem safe as the ten pointer this week.

9. Virginia Tech over Georgia Tech: Virginia Tech lost to a good team last week. I think they rebound in a big way here, and take control of the ACC Coastal…..for now.

8. Nebraska over Miami: Miami is just a name right now. Their offensive line was exposed by Louisville, and Nebraska’s D-line is at least as good as Louisville’s. I feel sorry for Brad Kaaya this week.

7. East Carolina over North Carolina: Before you go thinking that I’ve lost my mind, remember that the Pirates destroyed the ‘Heels -in Chapel Hill- last year. This ECU team is the same one that delivered the 30 point beatdown. The Tarheels are a bit better than last year, and will likely keep it closer, but they still won’t win.

6. Navy over Rutgers: Call me a skeptic, but I simply can’t take a team whose quarterback threw five interceptions in the previous game. Navy’s defense isn’t quite up to the caliber of Penn State, but they will still force Nova into some mistakes.

5. Florida State over Clemson: FSU has not played like a number one team even with Winston, so being without him for a half could hurt. That said, Clemson’s defense won’t really be able to stop them either. Both Karlos Williams and Mario Pender could have big games.

4. Pittsburgh over Iowa: I know Pitt struggled with FIU, but Iowa can’t stop James Conner either. Look for a low scoring game with lots of running by both teams.

3. LSU over Mississippi State: Wisconsin made LSU look vulnerable. I don’t know if the Bulldogs are good enough to exploit them or not, but on the chance that they are, I am underrating this game.

2. Michigan over Utah: Utah is good enough to win this game if Michigan doesn’t show up again. The Wolverines are by far the better team, but they may not play like it. I’m not taking any chances.

1. Maryland over Syracuse: This is honestly a coin toss. I like C.J. Brown to give Syracuse trouble, but the Orange will get their points.
