When Robert Griffin III went down with an injury this past weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars, backup quarterback Kirk Cousins was called upon to lead his team to victory once again.

Of course, this was nothing new for Cousins, who took over for Griffin late last year and put together a few impressive games. His play only improved, as early on in the preseason pundits noted that if the Redskins were employing a quarterback competition, Cousins would have beat out Griffin in a landslide.
Although Griffin’s ankle injury showed no fracture, his timetable to return has yet to be determined, which means for now the Redskins will be led by Cousins. Today Cousins spoke with Redskins media, and Washington Redskins beat writer Mike Jones provided the details on Twitter.
